Here they are!

Here they are in their Bumbos. I remember when their heads could not even go above the back of them and there was so much space in the seat. Not any more! I love the no neck look. I have found that collared shirts do that. Who am I kidding they really have no necks. This picture was taken Thursday night right before we left for a small group get together. Can you guess which is which? I am going to let you guess on your comments. I love their shoes. We don't have many shoes that are the same or that fit them so I love it when I can find some that match their outfits. They are growing up so fast!

Here is a picture of our new house: 1833 Talon Court Richland, WA 99352. It is great to have so much space. I will post more pictures of the interior when I have a chance. It seems like I can only get things done when they are both napping so I have to use my time wisely and do things that I can do without a baby in hand. I have found that typing is one of those things that is much easier with 2 hands.

Andrew and his little clone. They are alike in a lot of ways even besides the way they look. He is a mommy's boy though. It is nice that he is finally enjoying Andrew now. There was a phase in the condo that he would scream unless I was holding him. It is much easier now that he is over that. (Notice I am not saying his name but I think what I just wrote will give it away.)

Here is his bigger brother (another hint). He is a great baby and really is only upset when he is hungry or tired. He is very smiley and loves to kick. I say he doesn't cry much but when I was looking for a picture he was crying in all of them. Andrew said it was the shoes.

A change in plans

Okay, so I know it has been over a month since we have blogged. Well, a lot has happened in that month. Where to start? Well, the night before the movers were to come our realtor in WA called with some bad news. You know that cute little house that I had in a previous blog? Well, the builder went bankrupt and was unable to clear the lean on his house. So that meant that we could not close. Yes, the day before we were to close. So, we had no house to move in to and now where to move our stuff to and no place to stay for who knew how long. So, as the movers were packing our stuff Andrew got a call from a friend that said we could stay at his house. Well, that was not ideal. Not too much longer and he got a call from the HR department in Richland and said that we could stay in the company condo. Praise God! The condo was fully furnished and we could keep Harp there also. So we at least had some place to stay while we looked for a house.

The flight with the boys went very well and Harp arrived not terribly traumatized. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and started looking for houses Mon. morning. We found nothing we liked on Mon or Tuesday with our realtor. so we just started driving around. We had a house we kind of liked so we drove by it again and on our way saw some new houses and one that was still under construction. The guy working said we could come in and look but it still had 3 weeks until it would be on the market. So, we looked at it and loved it. We called our realtor and the next day we put in a offer. We also had some things we wanted to pick out such as tile and hard wood floors. They agreed and by Thurs. we were looking at tile and picking out house colors.

To make a long story short, we moved in the 29th of Aug. All of our stuff made it across the country with just a few dents and dings (even our cars) and now I have Internet back so we are getting things back to normal again. The neighbors are great, Andrew loves his new job, and we have found a great church. We are slowly but surely settling in.
The boys are getting so big. I would post pictures but I am not sure where the memory card is -oh, the joys of unpacking. We visited Mt. Rainier a couple of weeks ago so I will post pictures of us there. Even Harp went along for the ride. The boys are 13 weeks now. My how time flies, everyone said it would but they did not warn me it would go at warp speed. The boys are smiling a lot now and I am waiting any day for a giggle. They make the facial expressions of a laugh but nothing comes out. They are now reaching for things also. They sleep from about 9:45ish until at least 6, so things are good. They are also good eaters and nappers (most of the time). Things are going well. I am in a rush to get things moved in because my college friend Sue and her husband James are coming to visit in a week. It will be nice to see familiar faces and I don't get to see her enough, so if we don't update for a while you know why, but I will post pictures soon. Thanks for reading and all of your prayers for our family we all made it and are getting used to being Washingtonians. (What is someone from Washington? I am going to have to find that one out.) A week from today!

We are getting ready for the move. A week from today we leave Johnson City. The boys are getting so big! Here is a rare opportunity that both boys are awake, not crying and I got a picture of it!

We had a really good week with the boy's cousins Jett and Brayden. It was great to see my brother and Natalie and I think they enjoyed meeting the boys for the first time. I had some firsts this week in Johnson City and I have lived here for 12 years. We took the boys (Jett, Bray, Drew and Gavin) to the Hands on Museum and Chucky Cheese. I had never been to either place so it was so much fun to watch Jett play. It was really hard to see them go knowing that the next time we see them in person Drew, Gavin, and Bray will probably be walking. I will miss seeing them even though Greg taught Jett that I am Aunt D.D. (a nickname I have always hated), but when he says it, it is like music to my ears instead of grating on my nerves. It was so nice to see Brayden smile. We have not seen him since he was 3 or 4 days old and he is such a good happy baby.

I have a prayer request. I may have mentioned that one of our biggest obstacles has been getting Harper out to WA with us. Well, we have made special arrangements just for him like flying out of Knoxville and into Portland because both other local airports do not have planes big enough for Harp to fly cargo. He has to get a clean bill of health Monday at the vet. It is costing us a small fortune to get him there and we have to rent a bigger car that is not covered to get him home the 3 hour drive from Portland to Richland. Well, here is the prayer request. The logistics of actually getting him on the planes. In Knoxville, the cargo office does not open until like 6:30 or 7 and our flight leaves at 7:40 in a different part of the airport. Once we get to Atlanta if the temperature is above 85 they won't put him on the plane. I have no idea what they do with him if he can't get on the plane. All of this is only if he can get on the planes if there is not too much cargo. So, please be in prayer that Andrew does not have an anxiety attack about all this and that we make it through this leg of our journey. He is our first born and we love him and would do just about anything for him even though he is full of all kinds of energy and is obsessive compulsive and does not know how big he is-WE LOVE the big lug!

This is going to be my last post before the move so next time I will be writing from WA providing our computer and all our other stuff makes it there. Please keep us in mind next week as we prepare to move and say goodbye to old friends and the next week as we see our new home and try to settle in. Moving Right Along

Here are the boys in their 4th of July outfits. We did not do anything special, we decided that the fireworks were too late so we just stayed home.

We went to see Andrew's grandma, the boys great grandma- all 90 pounds of her. I think her dog eats more than she does.

The boys are 5 1/2 weeks old now. They are doing well and getting big. We did have a case of thrush though. Talk about purple dye everywhere. Gavin looks embarrassed.

Aren't these outfits cute? Aunt Michelle called them soccer butts. Thank you Grandma Susie for the shoes. We love them and have so many outfits that match them and we know how Mommy is about matching.

Moving plans are still moving along. Only a little over 2 weeks left now. We are looking forward to Uncle Greg, Aunt Natalie, and Jett and Brayden to come and visit next week then it is packing time.

Back from the Dark ages!

So you probably thought I was just a busy mom. Well, I am, but my Internet has not been working for 2 weeks. Talk about living in the dark ages. Of course it went out at the worst possible time. I have some big news so you will have to read on!

Brotherly love. Yes, this is Gavin sucking on Drew's cheek. At least he did not leave a mark like his cousin Adie left on her mommy. I love the look on Drew's face, like "what is going on here?"

They are getting so big, it is getting more and more difficult to carry them at the same time. I do love being a mom and they are such good babies.

Now for the big news. For those of you that did not know we are moving! Of course it is not just across town either. We are moving to Richland, Washington. Yes, the west coast. I wasn't kidding when I was talking about the big news. We have a house now too. Andrew went to WA last week and bought us a house. Of course, I had advised him on which houses I liked and being the good husband that he is, he chose my first choice. Yes, the boys and I are moving to house we have not really seen to a place we have never been where I have only met one person. I do have to say he did a good job though, here is our cute new house:

I love my kitchen! I love the whole house and I look forward to being the first to live in it. There is still a lot to be done, but I look forward to doing it and not fixing something someone else has done.

They don't do back yards there- go figure. So, that is what Andrew has been working on, getting someone out there to put in irrigation and sod. It is the desert out there not like Seattle at all. They only get 5-7 inches of rain a year. We will then get a fence for the Harpster. That is also another issue. Who knew how expensive it is to ship a dog. We will be all flying out there on the 28th. The movers come on the 26th and pack and then load everything-I mean everything on a semi (even our vehicles) and then in a week to 10 days we will hopefully have everything unloaded in Washington.

We now are just praying that our east coast house (Johnson City) sells quickly. It has been rough keeping the house clean and ready to be shown at any time. My family was so much help when they were here. I don't know how many times poor Susie moved her stuff and bed out to the garage for the house to be shown. We have had a lot of lookers but I guess not the right one to buy it yet. Please pray that this happens soon so Andrew can be a little more at ease and so I can just enjoy the boys and not have to worry about keeping the house immaculate and being ready to leave at a moment's notice for the house to be seen. I know that was a lot of information at one time and nothing like change all at one time. I mean first time parents, twins, selling our house, and moving across the country. Oh, and I guess I forgot my retirement which does not seem real since I usually have the summers off anyway. Please keep reading and commenting now that we are back on line and on the move.

God is so good!

My sister is with me so maybe she is rubbing off on me so I am going to try the number thing.

God is good because:

1. The boys are healthy and happy. Their weights are going up-Gavin was past his birth weight at 6lbs. when weighed at the doctor Friday. Drew is heading back up to his birth weight at 6 lbs 6 oz. which is great because he is supposed to be back at his birth weight by today (Monday). The doctor says they both look great. Drew peed all over the nurse right after she asked us if they had a good stream. Drew also was a show off by rolling over for the doctor while he was on the exam table. The doctor tried to inform him that he was not supposed to be doing that yet. My dad chimed in he is not even supposed to be here yet. Already I have an over achiever.

2. The boys are on a schedule they eat every 3 -4 hours and are sleeping at nigtht, only getting me up once each night for the last 3 nights-God is so good! They really have sweet dispositions. I am being called a nazi but I know how much kids in general need structure and they physically are fine going that long with out eating so the sooner I start trying to get them on a schedule the better otherwise all I would get done is feeding.

3. Speaking of feeding. They are now nursing pros. Gaving has a little bird mouth so he is doing better now with nursing and I love having that bond with them. Drew is a pro and I love his milk drunk look when he is finished eathing. I can't believe I am nursing 2 that was one of my biggest fears that I would not make enough milk and God worked it all out.

4. God has also blessed us with so many people that have been praying for the boys since the beginning and a wonderful group of family and friends. There are so many people to mention I can't even start. I am going to mention family. Andrew's mom was wonderful being there to help us at the hospital and take care of our first son Harper (the dog) at night. She also cleaned and kept the house in order while I was in the hospital. Thank you Sandee. Then there is my step-mom Susie. She has also been a godsend. She has been here for the last week helping me with the boys, cleaning, cooking- you name it. She has some twin experience with my stepsister's (her daughter's) twin girls. She has been so encouraging and it has been so nice getting to know her. She and my dad also painted two of our doors and dad along with help from Andrew's dad and Andrew also put in a new garage door. We would not be surviving if it weren't for these people who love us so much and who love our boys.

5. God is also good becuause Andrew was able to spend his first Father's day with the boys and his dad. My dad was also here so we have both sets of grandparents for the boy's first visit to church and first holiay.

6. The boys, Andrew and I feel so loved. We have had so many people send cards, food, gifts, and just help out. I don't know what we would do without family.

Welcome to the world

The boys are here! They were born yesterday at 1:25PM. Drew was 6lbs8oz, and Gavin was 5lb15oz. They both doing well and Denise is getting the hang of the mom thing so far-lack of sleep primarily. Drew is the one on the left and Gavin on the right. They are definitely not identical, but are both cute. Welcome to the world little Greene boys.
